Pyotr please be nice to me
Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto #1, Mov 3
I love this piece, espec. movement 1. Piano concertos rock.
(Look at her fingers!!! Life goal…)
Really nice recording of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Orchestra by the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Eugene Ormandy.
There are real cannons.
This version is a bit slower than I’m used to, but there are people singing in this version, so there’s a trade off there. And you can’t go past the cannons :) Current theory: Tchaikovsky had a friend listen to it and they loved it so much they jokingly said ‘the only way you could improve it is with canons’.
And Tchaikovsky was all ‘CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!’
Sorry, I get heaps excited about Tchaikovsky and the 1812 overture. I love it too much. It introduced me to classical music. Enough cannot be said.
